This Privacy Policy explains how Kasumi handles information. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to its terms.
Who we are
Kasumi is an iOS application designed to help you quickly blur, mosaic, paint over, or otherwise conceal faces and sensitive details in photos before saving or sharing them.
Summary of our approach
Kasumi is designed to be simple, private, and lightweight. The App does not require you to create an account. Photo editing happens on your device. Kasumi does not upload your photos to our servers, does not use your photos for advertising, analytics, or profiling, and cannot see the photos you edit.
Your photos and privacy
Your photos are private to you. Kasumi accesses photos only when you choose to open them in the App or grant photo library access through iOS.
Photo processing, including face detection, blur, mosaic, crystallize, paint, brush editing, and export, happens locally on your device. Kasumi does not upload, collect, store, or review your photos.
Photo library access
Kasumi may request access to your photo library so you can choose photos to edit and save edited images. You can manage or revoke photo access at any time in the iOS Settings app.
If a photo is stored in iCloud and not currently available on your device, your iPhone may need an internet connection to download that photo through Apple’s iCloud services. This process is handled by Apple, not by Kasumi.
Face detection and editing
Kasumi uses on-device Apple technologies to detect faces and apply concealment effects. Face detection is used only to help you edit the selected photo. Kasumi does not identify people, does not create face profiles, and does not store face detection results after they are no longer needed for editing.
Metadata
Photos may contain metadata, such as date, location, camera, and device information. Kasumi may provide an option to preserve metadata when saving or exporting edited photos.
If metadata preservation is disabled, Kasumi attempts to export edited images without preserving this information. Because metadata can include private details such as location, you should review your settings before sharing images publicly.
Sharing and export
Kasumi lets you save edited images to your device, copy them to your clipboard, or share them through the iOS share sheet. When you choose to share an image with another app or service, that app or service handles the image according to its own privacy policy.
Purchases
Kasumi is free to use. The App does not include subscriptions, paid unlocks, ads, watermarks, or daily limits. Kasumi offers optional one-time tips for users who want to support development. Tips are completely optional and do not unlock additional features. All tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, process, or store your full payment information.

Emails you send us
If you contact us by email, we will process your email address and any information you include so we can respond. We use this information only for support and record-keeping consistent with this Policy.
Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we continuously work to protect the app and the information it processes.
International users
Depending on your location and our service providers, data related to your use of the App may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to work with providers that implement appropriate protections consistent with applicable law.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain information. Because Kasumi is designed to minimize personal data collection, the information we can access about you may be limited. To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, email kasumiapp@outlook.com.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you within the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of Kasumi after an update becomes effective means you accept the updated Policy.
